Krystal J. Brumfield is the Chief of Staff of Carlyle Airport Group (CAG) Holdings, LLC, The Carlyle Group’s dedicated U.S.-based investment arm for airport infrastructure investment opportunities globally and a portfolio company of the Carlyle Global Infrastructure Opportunity Fund. As Chief of Staff, Krystal is responsible for leading collaboration among CAG’s cross-functional teams to ensure effective and streamlined performance to advance the development, implementation and execution of corporate priorities and strategic initiatives. From 2016 to 2019, Krystal served as the President and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the Airport Minority Advisory Council (AMAC), a non-profit established in 1984 to promote the full participation of minority-owned, women-owned, and disadvantaged business enterprises in airport contracting. As President & CEO, Krystal provided leadership to AMAC’s strategic planning process and implemented new programmatic strategic initiatives. She was recognized for driving growth and innovation at AMAC and was named in the top 25 of “Women in Power Impacting Diversity” by DiversityPlus Magazine in 2018 as well as awarded “Outstanding Woman in Law” by Hofstra University School of Law in 2019. Krystal currently serves as Vice Chair of the DC Water and Sewer Authority Board of Directors, appointed by Mayor Muriel Bowser. A graduate of Southern University with a Bachelors of Science in Accounting, Krystal earned a Juris Doctorate from the Southern University Law Center, and obtained a Master of Laws in Taxation from the University of Florida Levin College of Law. Krystal resides in Washington, DC.
